10 years ago the first post on In a DC Minute was published and it was appropriately titled, “The First Minute“. At the time we were living in Alexandria, Virginia, in separate apartments, and had been dating for less than a year.

Times. Have. Changed.

While we don’t write nearly as much as I wish we did, life has justifiably gotten in the way. A move home to upstate New York, a wedding, homeownership, owning (and selling) a cocktail bar, and of course expanding our family with Roux have clearly shifted our responsibilities *and priorities* and we just have found ourselves a bit too overwhelmed to write about these things with fidelity.

What started as an opportunity to document our experiences as a dating couple in the DC area transformed our lives in ways we never expected. It provided us with an opportunity to expand our palates, giving us the foundation for buying the Shirt Factory. It allowed us the platform to write about things that were and continue to be important to us, and above all else allowed us to meet some incredible people.

Neither of us know what the next year will bring but thank you to all of you who continue to read these blog posts. Here’s to more experiences and hopefully sharing some of them with all of you.

Cheers!
