Hello!
Dated for almost 4 years, engaged since October 2014. Known each other since 6th grade.
Scott asked Al out to the Halloween Dance in 6th grade – she said no.
17 years later, he asked her out on Christmas night. She said yes.
8 months after that, Al moved to join Scott in our nation’s capital. And soon after, Scott and Al found a cozy apartment near Old Town to call home – together. However, as of August 2016, they have returned to their hometown of Medina, NY to show some WNY love!
After almost a year at home, Scott and Al were married on Al’s childhood farm. One month later, they bought the farm and it became their first home together.
With two full-time jobs already, they gave restaurant ownership a shot and purchased Shirt Factory in Medina in 2018, adding a craft cocktail bar to the business. After 5 years and one global pandemic later, they sold the Factory and for good reason – their son, Roux, was born in 2021.
In a DC Minute is the brainchild of our desire for life filled with good food, good wine, and adventures no matter where we call home.
We write about where to go, what to do, and most importantly – what to eat. You’ll find reviews from WNY, DC, and all of our travels in between.
We document the typical (and atypical) woes of dating life, and the most often experienced relationship dilemmas. Our biggest source of content now is our son, Roux, and living life to the fullest with him in tow.

So glad to have met you at today’s Canal Village Farmers’ Market! Love your blog. We’ll be regular readers. You’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s great about Medina and Buffalo – and just across the border in Canada there are additional adventures. Endless opportunties which we’re excited to read about. Welcome back to WNY!
