I’ve only once asked you all for help – and you came through. So today, I’m asking again, and I hope you see it is a good cause.

Though many of you might be new to our blog since our move back to Western New York, others that have been along for the entire journey might remember when almost 3 years ago, we lost one of the most important members of our family.  Not only that, but some of the most painful and powerful words I have ever written have come from loving and losing that little girl.

Miah-1

If you are interested Miah’s story, you can check it out in Why Our Dog Can’t Walk  Part 1Part 2, and Part 3. And of course, if you want the whole thing, click here and here.  And get your box of tissues.

A few years ago, I asked for donations for Save-A-Pet of Niagara County, the rescue organization that introduced me to my two soul mates, Ivan and Miah, and was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support. From afar, it was all I could do to give back to a volunteer organization that works around the clock for the good of the animals.

When I moved home, I immediately got involved and have since joined the board of Save-A-Pet. Though my contribution pales in comparison to the decades of service that the other board members have given, I know that if I ask of you again, many of you will come through and lend a hand in our next event.

On March 11th, Save-a-Pet hosts an annual Basket Raffle, which is ultimately our largest opportunity for fundraising for the entire year. We rely on the generous donations of businesses and individuals to provide our baskets, and the proceeds go directly to funding the care for our foster animals while we search for forever homes.

Medina businesses, community members, friends and readers of DC Minute:
Please consider donating a gift certificate or a basket to Save-A-Pet for this year’s raffle. I would be happy to help collect any items or donations, run around Medina or pick baskets up if you have them.  Your donation is tax-deductible, and you will be publicly acknowledged on our social media channels, in our newsletter,  as well as all day throughout the event on March 11th.
Additionally – if you are a business in Medina, I would be thrilled to feature you in a post here on DC Minute. Last month, over 10,000 visitors came to the site, and we hope this would provide a good opportunity for you and your business. This cause is so near and dear to my heart, and I truly appreciate anything that you can do to help Save-A-Pet in this endeavor.
If you are willing to help – please let me know by commenting below, or sending me an email at dcminute@gmail.com.  Thank you dearly in advance for helping to aid in the rescue of animals like Miah and Ivan. <3
