News Around Town: Oyamel and STK Hosting Events
It’s nearly impossible to imagine there are less than two weeks left in February. In the coming days there will be events at Oyamel, STK, Nage DC, Zengo, along with many others.
Here’s a look at a couple we’d recommend:
Where: STK
When: Tuesday, February 24 (THIS EVENT IS BEING RESCHEDULE)
What: STK’s Executive Chef Hennessy is hosting a 5-course wine pairing dinner featuring wines from Napa’s Trefethen Family Vineyards. Reservations for this inaugural event costs $125 per guest with the reception starting at 7pm, which is followed by the seated dinner at 7:30pm.

When: Every Friday (11:30am-2:30 and 5pm-10:30pm) through Lent (April 2)
What: Nage DC is bringing Meatless Friday for all those looking for special seafood dishes during Lent. Specials run from $26-$30 and include Miso Glazed Salmon and a Black Pepper Cod.
Where: Ambar
When: Being introduced next week
What: Ambar is introducing a drink challenge you’ll want to be part of, the Rakia Tasting Challenge. The special tasting menu will include both classic versions of the beverage as well as some more unique offerings. Over the next six months, for all those who finish 1.5 oz of all 33 flavors will be entered to win the grand prize of a 750 ML Rakia bottle.

When: Saturday, February 28
What: The Park Hyatt Washington is getting ready to host it’s Masters of Food & Wine in just over a week from now. Blue Duck Tavern’s Cheese Specialist will bring guests together for a two-hour journey through the pairing of different cheeses with craft beers. The event is all-inclusive and tickets can be purchased for $65. Additionally, during the remainder of the month Blue Duck Tavern is offering rare magnums of Togni Vineyard Winery by the glass. Each 4 oz pour is available for $30, on 2/24 the 1997 Cabernet vintage is being offered.

When: February 19-22
What: Celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Goat with Zengo as they debut three new dinner specials. The new dishes are a Waygu Beef Gyoza, Vegetable Spring Rolls, and Shrimp Lo Mein, additionally all guests will receive a fortune cookie that could include special prizes such as a Mojito, Angry Zengo Roll, or Churros.

When: March 2nd-March 15th
What: Oyamel puts on some of the best events in the Washington, DC restaurant scene. To kick off March they will be hosting their 8th annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival! Tickets for the event are available for $60 per person, and give you an all-inclusive trip through the tasting of tequilas and mezcals, along with additional specials to highlight the event.
