Get your costumes ready because there will be plenty of reasons to wear them in the coming week. Parties, a festival, and lots of candy all highlight Halloween festivities in downtown Medina. Here’s a look at this weekend and trick or treating details:

Beggars’ Night: Downtown Medina, October 27, 5:30PM – 7PM

The yearly event sponsored by the Medina Area Partnership allows children and business owners alike to dress for the Halloween season. Children line up by the parking lot at the Medicine Shoppe and then parade with others to participating businesses. The Medina Police Department also participates in the event to help with traffic control and other safety measures. The weather looks like it will be cooperative, so head on downtown!

Day of the Dead Festival: Orleans County YMCA, October 28, 3PM – 7PM

We still remember the first year this event landed in Medina, thanks to the vision of Leonel Rosario and the team at Mariachi de Oro. Since then it’s expanded to a Saturday at the local YMCA. GO Art! in partnership with the YMCA, Mariachi de Oro, and Maizal Mexican Kitchen will feature crafts, music, dancing, special foods, ofrenda displays, and so much more. We can’t wait to check it out – see you there!

Trick or Treating in Medina: October 31, 5:30PM – 7:30PM

A gorgeous 46 degrees is the high for the day, which should be warm enough for avoiding winter coats. It’s time to eat too much candy and enjoy the parade of costumes. As a reminder, only houses with their lights on are participating.

Halloween Parties

Fitzgibbons Public House, October 28, 8PM – 11PM: The party will feature music from DJ Dozer and a best costume prize.

The Walsh Tap Room, October 28, 8PM: Get ready for a costume contest, cash prizes ($500), and drink specials.

Sacred Heart Club, October 28, 8PM: This party is for members and guests with a $3 cover. Music will be provided by DJ JT and the costume contest takes place at 10:15PM.

We wish you all a festive Halloween – but you know we are waiting to tear down our Halloween decorations so we can be 100% all in for Christmas ;) Cheers!
