You may call her a teacher, a mother, a friend, a small business owner, a photographer, or many other things. To me, she’s the first person I’ve ever referred to as a rockstar and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in her 40th year and beyond. Now, when it comes to birthdays, she’s typically the one celebrating others. She loves to buy others balloons as much as she loves them herself, and she never misses a chance to share with others how special she believes they are. Most importantly, on their special day.

When it comes to Alix, we re-met when she was 28 years old. She walked out on stage during a show she had received rave reviews for. Shortly after, I met her former students who praised her. She found a hobby as a photographer and a writer, which resulted in a blog and other positions. When we decided to move back to Medina, she was the one who encouraged the steps at the Shirt Factory as the creative mind. Whether it’s what other people say or we tell her, Alix is constantly downplaying her accomplishments. To me, she is the definition of a rockstar.

Beyond jobs and hobbies, Alix is an incredible mother and amazing partner. She is supportive, caring, and strong. Additionally, she’s constantly working to better herself for those around her, especially in our family.

Whether it’s an educator, mother, or the number of other titles you choose to put by her name, I know she’s amazing at any of them. As someone lucky enough to have a front row seat for the last 12 years, I’ve had the opportunity to understand why Alix is a rockstar in every sense of the meaning. I can’t wait to see what her 40th year brings and all she’s able to accomplish and experience as we look ahead.
