Flying South to Join the Bird
Peace out, WNY, it’s going to be 83 degrees in Del Rio, Texas tomorrow and there is a little lady I’m dying to see.
The moment I knew my niece was on the way, I signed up for a travel rewards credit card. I signed up for an account with American Airlines (the ONLY airline to fly into Del Rio…grrrr). I invested in travel gear. I have daily deals on trips to Texas delivered to my inbox.
In a word, or two: I’m obsessed.
I tried to get Scott to come along, but with work, the Factory, and a farm full of 4 legged babies, it’s hard for both of us to get away simultaneously. So rather than rendezvous with the little bird, Scott will be master of the house, and I heard him whisper plans to Cado before I left – something about pizza? Needless to say, I think they’ll cope for a few days.
Now it’s time to settle into my seat, enjoy a brief stop at Reagan in DC (ummm I hear El Centro has a location right next to my gate at the airport??? I’m smelling a giant bowl of guacamole to myself for lunch) before a quick pass through Dallas to arrive at the world’s smallest airport, but in one of my new favorite places to be.
So excited to be back with Adrienne and Evan, and of course, cuddle that perfect little Wren.
Happy Winter Break to all of my teacher friends!
