Date Night: Urban Heights in Bethesda
**Cole and Sasha are back with their review of Urban Heights – if you missed their first post on Rose’s Luxury, make sure to check that out here!**
Get ready DC friends, the winter chill is around the corner. Enjoy these last few days of cool breezes and warm sun because the blustery cold is incoming. However, with the promise of impending winter comes fresh menus options and new thrills in the DC metro food scene. It’s clear that the newly opened Urban Heights is ready to roll into their first winter with their tented rooftop bar. I expect this cozy, modern restaurant to excel.
This past week, Sasha and I had the opportunity to visit the Downtown Bethesda restaurant Urban Heights by the Robert Wiedmaier restaurant group (Marcel’s, River Falls Tavern, Villian & Saint, Mussel Bar & Grille, Wildwood Kitchen). Recently opened in 2015, we were eager to attend the “Raise The Roof” event to celebrate the unveiling of the menu and drink options for the winter season.
The house drinks were well crafted. A personal lover of the Manhattan cocktail, the Urban Heights variation is the 5 Spice Manhattan. Their slight, personal twist keeps the old faithful a quality choice. The contemporary Asian menu is refreshing. Our favorites included the lumpia, lobster rangoon, and salmon-chive-caviar napoleons. When asked if we’d like another, we always said YES!
Each dish owned its flavor. Many dishes have a spicy component, including our favorite dessert:a chocolate cupcake with chocolate sauce and peanut butter Sriracha buttercream.
We will be back again soon for the cozy warmth in the tent, and in the drinks!
