Wine Tasting at Tarara Winery
“Tarara Winery is built and managed with passion.“
With a vineyard that covers roughly 475 acres, Tarara is breathtaking before you even get to sampling the wine. There’s a winding road, rows upon rows of grapes, an old wooden staircase pushed against a cliff, and a door that appears to lead you into a cave. As for the wine tasting itself Tarara Winery leaves nothing to chance.
Real passion extends from all reaches of an operation from the managing of a vineyard and winemaking process to the individual pouring wine into the visitor’s glass. This is the justification for the quote we pulled off Tarara’s website. We had heard no shortage of positive reviews of Tarara Winery, we even heard some people rank it as one of the top wine producers in Virginia. So, with high expectations we started our tasting hoping everything we had heard would prove true.
Our wine tasting involved a combination of whites, reds, and a sparkling wine that was pulled out to properly conclude things. Several wines stood out for us, they were the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon and the Bad to the Bone Bubbles (a blanc de blancs sparkling wine). With a wine seminar taking place upstairs we were able to further be impressed with some of their red blends that were not included as part of the regular flight. Though we didn’t love every wine we were more than impressed by the ones we did.
There’s little argument from us – Tarara Winery is one of the best Virginia has to offer.
