October maybe more than halfway over, but there are still plenty of events to check out in our News Around Town. From the ongoing Virginia Wine Month to a celebration lunch next weekend, there is still plenty to do before November strikes.

On October 25th, from 2pm-4pm, the Shops at Wisconsin Place in collaboration with the Washington National Opera are hosting a free concert giving everyone a sneak peak of the upcoming season. Along with the concert, small bites will be provided by various local restaurants.

Calling all Virginia Wine lovers! Barboursville Vineyards is coming to town to join America Eats Tavern for a collaborative feast in celebration of Virginia Wine Month. The 5-course dinner will be held on October 30th, with tickets available for $80 after RSVP’ing to taydraj@americaeatstavern.com. Attending the event gives you the perfect opportunity to try some incredible wine with some wonderful food pairings.

Cider week might not be until mid-November, but Early Mountain Vineyards has already started things off with a $14 flight of 4 Virginia ciders to get you excited in advance. If you plan your trip properly you’ll make sure to make reservations for their “Fried Chicken and Bubbles” event on October 26th from 5pm-8pm, with tickets available for $45.

Zaytinya will host Mario Batali for a lunch in celebration of his new book, America: Farm to Table, co-authored with The Washington Post’s Jim Webster. The event will take place on October 26th at 12:30pm. Seating is limited and ticket prices are $95, with gives you everything including a signed copy of the cookbook.
