“I hope they have guacamole!” Those were Al’s exact words while we were parking outside the newly opened District Taco in Alexandria. The truth is the guacamole wasn’t that bad either. You can never be too sure when it comes to a fast food style restaurant, but we were impressed.

District Taco-6

For months we’ve been hearing that District Taco would be coming to the Old Town area of Alexandria and it’s no secret that they are now open, judging by the amount of people there on only their second night. We decided to let them work all their kinks out on day 1 so we could visit on day 2.

District Taco-2

When you walk in it’s very similar to a Chipotle type restaurant, the big difference between the two is that we like this one much better. We both opted for the 3 taco selections and an order of guacamole and chips. After ordering you’re instructed to either sit down and they’ll walk around with your orders, or you can wait over on the side where everything is being prepared. Either way, you’re only going to wait about 5 minutes to get your meal giving you plenty of time to get to the salsa bar for your dipping sauces.

The tacos are definitely better than just fast food. After trying a couple different versions we recommend chicken as your meat, and then add as many toppings as your heart desires. In addition to the tacos the guacamole also receives our seal of approval, which is probably what you really wanted to know anyways.

There were a couple small issues that we had, but nothing that would deter us from going back. Enjoy this new Alexandria restaurant and let us know what you think.

Cheers!
