After only 2 years of blogging, imagine our surprise when we opened up the Washington City Paper’s Best of DC issue at last night’s party to see that In a DC Minute was voted RUNNER UP for Best Food Blog!!!BestofdcbannerFor those of you who voted – our heartfelt THANK YOU for doing so, and for following along on the blog as well as our awesome friends on social media. Meeting and engaging with you has been the best thing to come about from starting our little cyber corner.RunnerUpClip

Though we never set out to be a “food blog”, it seems that we live to eat, and not the other way around. We might not have the most trained and sophisticated palette, but after 3 years of eating our way around the DMV, we love being able to recommend places for date nights to couples all over the area.bestofDC-16

Last night’s date found us at the DC Armory for the Best of DC Celebration, hanging with friends and sampling small dishes and cocktails from some of our favorite restaurants in the area. We sipped on libations from The Gibson, Jack Rose, Sotto, The Pub and the People, Del Campo, and The Riggsby. Though I went nuts over Vinoteca’s mushrooms, Scott and I enjoyed meatballs from Carmine’s, Pork belly tacos from El Centro, sandwiches from Taylor Gourmet, spring veggies from Nonna’s Kitchen, short ribs and grits from Nage, and burgers from P.J. Clarks.

Though we are partial to the Carnegie Library venue as in the past, the Armory allowed a little more elbow room and an easier path to the food. Either way, we love the opportunity to see so many of our favorite locations represented and celebrated all under one roof.

Again, our deepest thanks for your votes! Cheers!!
