We recently had the opportunity to attend the Capitol City Brewing Company‘s SpringFest in Shirlington, VA, on April 26th. This was their inaugural event and was well attended by several beer lovers in the area. For those of you who are in love with craft beers, this was definitely your type of event, while those looking for a couple classics and just the festival atmosphere could enjoy the day as well.

We’re always up for music, drinks and food, so SpringFest was a great way to spend our Saturday afternoon. We tried out some of our regular favorites like Duck Rabbit, Woodchuck Cider, Dogfish Head, and Ithaca Brewing Co., which are all must haves. More importantly, we also had a chance to try several local beers from Capitol City Brewing Co. including their newly released Hefeweizen, which is going to be a perfect warmer weather beverage.

In addition to the great selection of beers, several local restaurants showed off some of their dishes. We ended up ordering from 3 different places for a variety of Chinese to Middle Eastern foods.

As the weather continues to get nicer, festivals will be popping up all over the area and we are looking forward to getting out to as many as we can.  In the meantime, get down to Capitol City Brewing Co. and try everything they have to offer!
