Date Night: Warehouse Bar & Grill in Old Town Alexandria
It’s a wonderful thing when the abundance of great options is an area’s only downfall. Around once a month, Al and I try and check out a restaurant we haven’t been to in the past. Though we all have favorite places that we want to go back to over and over, we stick to date night being held at a new place every time.
A couple weeks ago, after narrowing our list to a couple restaurants in Old Town we decided to check out the Warehouse Bar & Grill on King Street. I’m sure many of you have ventured through the doors already yourselves, so for those of you who have I’m going to tell you what you already know, that this is a restaurant that should be on everyone’s list of places to go and recommend to friends. After it was recommended to us, as many places are, we decided we would grab drinks for happy hour beforehand and then walk over for our reservations that evening.
Everything was wonderful here from the service to the entrees that were placed in front of us. Al decided to get the spicy pecan crusted chicken topped with crab meat, while I got the surf and turf with the filet mignon and crab meat. Both of these dishes were certainly well worth the trip, but what really caught our attention was the she crab soup, which gives you a mildly spicy cup of crap soup for a surprisingly low price. We decided in favor of dessert, after our meals, and the winner was the hazelnut chocolate creme brulee.
And though we couldn’t help but pull out the iPhone for a quick pic before we dove into the creme brulee, I urge you to take a quick look at the photo gallery on the Warehouse website for a much better representation of this fine restaurant.
This is one of those places where there are several things items on the menu that are worth the trip, so don’t feel obligated to take our recommendations. There is a good chance once you mention to your friends that you’re thinking of making reservations, they will give you some recommendations of their own.
We recommend the Warehouse for dinner but also if you want to just get a bowl of soup and a less crowded drink at their bar.
Remember, as with any date in Old Town, spend some time walking around King Street with your date as there are too many beautiful sites to pass up.
Cheers!
