There’s more than just the cherry blossoms to get excited about this week. Restaurant openings, a cocktail competition, and other specials are things to do in DC over the next several days.

Kicking things off today (Monday), &pizza is set to open its 12th location in the Dupont neighborhood.  The new site includes an equality sign graphic that pays homage to the community, additionally, they’ve added some more youthful features including communal tables and schoolhouse lights.

After enjoying this popular-casual restaurant during the day, you can head to the American Ice Company for the first annual District Swigs Cocktail Competition. The competition is open to the public, running from 7pm-9pm, and includes bartenders from Bar Pilar, the Gibson, Chaplin, Ambar, Compass Rose, Bourbon, Sheppard, and Jack Rose/Dram & Grain.

Robert Weidmaier’s Old Town Alexandria restaurant, Brabo, will be kicking off their Guest Chef Dinner on Tuesday with Rammy nominated Chef, Tim Ma, of Maple Ave Restaurant and Water & Wall. The $65 dinner will begin at 7pm with reservations required.

Have you filed your taxes yet? More importantly, are you getting a nice return? On Wednesday, take that extra cash with you to nopa Kitchen + Bar for a special Tax Relief cocktail or other beverage with an extended happy hour running from 4pm-10pm. Several additional specials, including a prix-fixe lunch menu, will be offered throughout the day.

STK Washington, DC is celebrating their 1 year anniversary on Thursday. The 7pm event is is bound to be crowded and entry is not guaranteed, but if you’re able to be there it should be quite the celebration.

To start things off the following week, Dolcezza is opening is opening it’s newest location in CityCenterDC on Sunday, April 19th with complimentary small gelato cones from 2pm-5pm.
