Is it really December? The holiday season is here and in addition to holiday parties and shopping there are plenty of things to do in DC this week. Here’s a list of things we’d recommend this week:

For starters, Monday is Scott’s 31st birthday so there’s a reason to have a glass of wine or a cocktail.

Nage Bistro, located within the Courtyard Embassy Row Hotel, introduced their Monday gourmet burger night several weeks back and is a can’t miss. We recently visited Nage and tried the three they were offering that night. One was a more traditional BBQ burger, while another came on a glazed doughnut. If you’re a burger fan, definitely give it a shot.

On Wednesday, December 3rd (running all month), the Festivus celebration is coming to the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel! That’s right – Festivus, the popular Seinfeld parody is coming to the Dupont Circle neighborhood for a family-style dinner. Included in the event will be the Festivus Pole, the Festivus Miracle, Airing of Grievances, and Feasts of Strength.

The National Tree Lighting Ceremony is taking place on Thursday, December 4th at 4:30pm. This year’s hosts will be Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, joining them will be a variety of other well known performers. For up to date information: www.thenationaltree.org

The coming weeks will only have more events and things to do in DC. Any big plans for the week ahead?

Let the holiday season roll!
