Scandal

Scandal.  Our weekend consisted of laying low and feeding our appetites with unhealthy amounts of Olivia Pope and Associates.

It wasn’t all Netflix, as we did a fair amount eating. Friday night was originally planned as a Date Night In, since Scott was getting back from a work trip and I thought I would have time to prepare one hell of a dinner. Plans were foiled when my conference ran long and Scott’s flight made excellent time. Instead of eating croutons and ketchup (pretty much all we had in the cupboards) we opted for take-out.

Rarely do we order Chinese, but after ruling out pizza and Mediterranean, we both got a hankering for egg rolls and General Tsao’s chicken. After we threw it out on Twitter where we should go, we were recommended Goody’s in Old Town, Alexandria. Total dive, but definitely delicious. We ordered what seemed like the entire menu, and you know when they throw in a dozen fortune cookies they think you’ve ordered for a party.

Saturday we didn’t even leave the house; instead we cleaned and worked out and settled in around 5 PM for hours of Scandal. Which, to our everlasting shame, we headed to bed around midnight after we both fell asleep on the couch.

Sunday was our weekly grocery trip, and we are excited to share our plans for Thanksgiving soon. Not keeping with tradition this year, as we aren’t traveling home and it will be just the two of us here. Stay tuned…We nestled in again for more episodes of that addictive show, but headed to bed earlier this time.

All in all, it was the most low-key weekend we have had in awhile, but knowing how crazy the next month is sure to be, we relished in the quiet and slow days together.

What did you all do? And let us know if you have a clutch Chinese take-out place in the area we need to try…
