Thanksgiving in DC

While many of you are gearing up for travel next week, others will be searching for a place to spend Thanksgiving in DC. This News Around Town is devoted to trying to help you make that difficult choice.

America Eats Tavern,1700 Tysons Blvd, McLean, VA, will be offering their Thanksgiving menu from 11am-7pm in addition to their regular menu options. Roasted Virginia Turkey (mashed potato, crispy brussels sprouts, turkey and turkey croquettes, sweet potato fritters, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce) for $28, Virginia Oyster Stuff for $12, and the Bourbon Corn Pudding for $9 all look well worth the trip.

Et Viola!, located at 5120 MacArthur Boulevard, NW, will host its second annual “Stretch Your Belly” party. Guests will have the opportunity to stuff their faces with several unlimited dishes for $29.95 per person. This special offering will be available exclusively during dinner service from 5pm-10pm on Wednesday, November 26.

Clarendon’s Zaika, located at 2800 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA, will be offering 2 exotic options to the Thanksgiving feast. From 11:30am-3pm guests can enjoy the Indian buffet with an assorted of Thanksgiving-inspired dishes priced at $14.99 per person. Then, from 4pm-8pm the restaurant will offer a three-course, prix fixe holiday menu priced at $35 per person, or $50 to include wine pairings.

Pinea, the new restaurant in the W Hotel, is serving a special prix-fixe Thanksgiving dinner menu from 2-8pm. The menu is available for $85 and includes first course options such as oysters, cauliflower panna cotta, caviar; second course options such as pheasant agnolotti, panceta, sweet potato, sage; an entrée list that includes the heritage turkey roulade foie gras and guanciale stuffing, with brussels sprouts; finally a pumpkin créme brulee for dessert. Several other options apply, these are just some that caught our eye.

Blue Duck Tavern, located at 24 and M Streets, NW, will present farm-fresh options to tempt the palate. They will offer its a la carte breakfast menu from 6:30am-10:30am. Then, “brunch into dinner” service will be available from 11:30am-9pm. Guests opting for the Thanksgiving, three-course holiday meal will enjoy starters to be followed by a choice of plated entrées and side dishes showcasing produce from regional farms, then follow everything up with with seasonal desserts. The menu is priced at $100 per person for adults and $45 for children between 6-12. Children under 6 are complimentary.

Nage Bistro, located at 1600 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, will be featuring a Thanksgiving buffet showcasing Southern favorites, from 11:30am-6pm for adults at $38 and children at $19. Menu high Cajun Deep Fried Turkey; Brown Sugar Glazed Ham; Cornbread and Andouille Stuffing; Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes; Cranberry Sauce; Parker House Rolls, and Turkey Gravy. Dessert options include an Apple Cobbler that’s caught our attention. Additionally, guests who dine in at the Thanksgiving buffet will be able to fill a 7.75 inch x 5.5 inch x 2.4 inch take-home box to enjoy leftovers the next day. The take-home box is priced at $12.

Ardeo+Bardeo, located at 3111 Connecticut Ave., NW, will be featuring a three-course menu with highlights that include Sweet Potato and Apple Soup, Smoked Turkey Rillette, Roman Style Gnocchi, and Roasted Turkey Breast. The dessert menu is highlighted by Buttermilk Doughnuts and Chocolate-Peanut Torte. The Thanksgiving menu will be served from 11am-8pm and is priced at $55 per person.

nopa Kitchen + Bar, located at 800 F Street, NW, is featuring both several specials and its a la carte menu. Highlights include the Kabocha Squash Salad and the Roasted Turkey, as for desserts the Pumpkin Creme and Apple Tart Tatin are can’t miss. The menu will be available from 11am-8pm.

Legal Sea Foods, is offering both a traditional menu and for others, a Stuffed Turkey Breast dinner is priced at $21.95 per person and $7.95 for children 12 and under. The special, along with the signature seafood menu, will be available from 12pm-9pm at the Washington, DC location, 12pm-8pm at the Tyson’s Galleria location, and 8am-4pm at the Reagan National Airport location.

Rasika West End, located at 1190 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, is offering a special Thanksgiving dish in addition to the a la carte menu. The Dum Ka Turkey (turkey hot pot flavored with saffron and cashew nuts) will highlight the evening for $16. The complete a la carte menu is also available, from 11:30am-2:30pm and then again from 5pm-10pm.

Rasika Penn Quarter, located at 633 D Street, NW, is offering a slightly more exotic Thanksgiving dish to go with the a la carte menu. Guests can enjoy the flavorful Turkey Salli (turkey cooked with apricots and straw potatoes) for $16, along with a complete al la carte menu from 11:30am-2:30pm and again from 5pm-10pm.

The Bombay Club, located at 815 Connecticut Avenue, NW, will be presenting a variety of Thanksgiving extras to accompany their full a la carte menu. Specials include the Methi Turkey Tikka served with cranberry chutney, Brussels sprout foogath, and butternut squash bharta for $19.50. For dessert the specialty will be a Pumpkin Brûlée with a cranberry cookie for $8. The menu is being offered from 11:30am-2:30pm and again from 5:30pm-10:30pm.

The Oval Room, located at 800 Connecticut Avenue, NW, a three-course holiday menu can be had for $50, from 12pm-8:30pm. The menu will feature highlights such as Crudo of Nantucket Bay Scallops, Free Range Turkey, and Butter Poached Maine Lobster, while the experience wouldn’t be completely without ordering the Chocolate Espresso Cake or the Cheesecake.

701 Restaurant, located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, will be serving up a three-course classic Thanksgiving feast from 11am-9pm for $48 for adults, and $24 for children 12 and under. Special starters include a Potato Lemongrass Soup, Crab Beignets, and Duck-Chestnut Meatballs, moving onto the main course the Grilled Pork Loin and Roasted Turkey has caught our attention. To perfect the evening the dessert menu includes Sticky Bun Parfait, Chocolate Ingot, Pumpkin Butterscotch Mousse, and a Honey Almond Dacquoise to choose from.

Bibiana Osteria-Enoteca, located at 1100 New York Ave, NW, is your one stop shop for an authentic Italian twist on the holiday meal. The prix fixe menu is priced at $48 per person, and will be served from 12pm-8pm and will include option highlights of a Roasted Cauliflower Salad, Beef Tripe, Heritage Turkey Cooked Two Ways, and Roasted Pork Loin. As for desserts the Roasted Pumpkin Flan with coffee créme and hazelnut butter cookie sounds too good to be true.

Ulah Bistro, located at 1214 U Stree, NW, will offer a three-course prix fixe menu in addition to their regular a la carte menu. Standouts from the prix pixe menu include Pumpkin Bisque, Roasted Butternut Squash Salad, and Roasted Turkey. The menu runs from 5pm-11pm and is priced at $35 per person.

Station 4, located at 1101 4th Street, SW, will be offering a special four-course, prix fixe menu. The menu is priced at $38 per person, and will be served from 2pm-11pm, with tempting menu options of Spiced Butternut Squash Soup, Turkey Meatballs, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and Pomegranate Glazed Pork Tenderloin. Thanksgiving dessert favorites such as Pumpkin and Pecan Pie are the perfect finishers for the evening.

Fiola, will be offering Thanksgiving dinner for $80 per person and $28 per child. Highlights include the Cappuccino of Butternut Squash, Marubini of Virginia Country Ham, Pennsylvania Heritage Roast Turkey, and the Mascarpone Pumpkin Bar.

Casa Luca, will be offering a “Celebration of Thanksgiving” for $65 per person, and $25 per child. Highlights from the menu will include the Porchetta Tonnato, Main Lobster, Agnolotti of Virginia Country Ham, Roasted Heritage Turkey, and the Dark Chocolate “Torta Caprese”.

Fiola Mare, will be offering Thanksgiving specials for $80 per person, and $28 per child. Holiday specials include the Burrata of Buffalo Mozzarella, Leg Roulade of Heritage Bourbon Red Turkey, and of course the Pumpkin Pie to cap it all off.

DGBG Kitchen + Bar, will be open from 12pm-8pm with a three-course prix fixe Thanksgiving menu with a French flair. The menu will be offered to adults for $65, and children under 12 for $35. Highlights include Squash Soup, Foie Gras Terrine, Roasted Turkey, Bone-in Ribeye, and several classic desserts from Pumpkin to Pecan Pie.
