Summer is officially here! news-1

This week there are several things to check out, things we’re cramming into our schedule, and even some things you should do WITH us….

Monday:

TICO located at 1926 14th St, NW, will start serving happy hour during the week from 4-7pm every day. Deals will include drinks and small plates ranging from $3-6 each.

“Bonk’s Smoked Que” BBQ at The Pig launched on Sunday and will run throughout the summer on Sunday and Monday nights, from 5pm-10:30pm. Several options are available from “Build Your Board” with two meats and a side for $17 to four meats and sides at $39, all of the options can be paired with a wide range of BBQ-themed drinks to wash them down.

Tuesday:

This is a date night for us and we’re making our first trip to Estadio in Washington, DC. After hearing more than a couple positive reviews from friends, we can’t wait to check it out for ourselves.

Wednesday:

Since it’s Hump Day, today should be your day to rest since the USA game starts tomorrow at 11:30am.

Thursday:

It’s time to head to Union Street Public House in Old Town Alexandria for #DCMinuteHH with us. Union Street has been gracious enough to let us organize a happy hour this Thursday and is offering extended deals for guests of ours until 9pm. Check out all the details, join us on Thursday, and then tweet photos and comments using #DCMinuteHH.

Remember take an early and long lunch, USA vs Germany game is at 11:30am and can be seen just about everywhere in the area.

Friday:

Two date nights in one week! We’ve tried Oyamel’s epic guacamole several times but beyond that we’re in the dark on what they offer. With early dinner reservations we’re then heading back to Rosslyn in VA for an evening movie in the park. After writing about our warm weather favorites a little while ago, we figured we should practice what we preach and cross some of them off our list.

Saturday:

Eastern Market will be our destination in the morning and then we’ve got some plans with friends all afternoon. For everyone looking for some plans we’d recommend Art, Beer, and Rock & Roll, at The Lamont Street Collective Summer Bash beginning at 8pm (1822 Lamont St, NW). Collaborating with other local artists, Grogan Social Scene will be playing songs from their upcoming album at this event. Consider supporting the local music scene and check this event out!

World Cup is Still HERE!

There are several places you could be watching the games, here are some of our recommendations including several events at  Redline,(which is one of our favorite spots).

Happy Summer, all! Hope to see you on Thursday!
