We’ve mentioned a few times that I attended Syracuse University for my undergrad as well as my Master’s degree, and Scott graduated a few miles north at what must be one of the coldest colleges in the continental U.S. That makes us absolutely crazy, die hard fans of SU. Scott is a better fan than I, and remains interested in their football team. I, however, stop my life from November – April when Syracuse basketball plays.

I bleed orange.

Scott and I watched several games together last year when we first started dating, but all on TV and all basketball. In about May when he got hold of the football schedule and realized Syracuse would be at Maryland Nov. 9th, he and Erica (also DIE HARD fan who puts us both to shame, as she grew up in the Cuse and went there with me for undergrad) started planning this past weekend with a fervor that paralleled downright fanaticism.

It quickly became an entire weekend event, and my sister jumped on board to take the trip down with Erica, as she lives back home in WNY. I am not the biggest football fan, but when there is SU and food involved, I’m always in.

We packed a ton of food and off we went, with about 15 other people, to sit 4 rows behind the Syracuse bench. It was pure magic, and they had an amazing win to boot.

In the end we had an amazing, albeit chilly, fall day. Football was good, food was plentiful, and friends and family were the best.
